Deodorization systems
When the oil has reached the designated temperature, in range of 220-260°C depending on the processed oil, it is fed to the deodorization column, the main component used for deodorizing edible fats and oils. The column can consist of a stripping section and a retention section.
Protect your PX 100 and 115 separator from wear and leakage with Alfa Laval erosion liner. It covers the sliding bowl bottom, a vital part of the separator, and can be easily replaced. Unlike Hexavalent chromium plating, which is harmful and soon will be banned in Europe, our erosion liner is safe and eco-friendly.
Rwanda to boost local production of edible oil with US$10m
Rwanda produces at least 80,000 metric tonnes of edible oil every year and imports an average of 125,000 metric tonnes. In 2019, Rwanda only exported 37,399 kilogrammes of cooking oil, which generated Rwf257.8 million (US$256,000) while re-exports were equivalent to 42,664,161 kilogrammes worth Rwf33.7 billion (US$33.5m).
The purpose of Deodorizing Vegetable Oils is to remove odor substances. In order to remove the odor substances, a step wise guide must be followed by the refinery operator fulfilling requirements. The temperature of the bleached vegetable oil is further raised from 120 C to 200 C.
VO centrifuges for edible oil production
VO. This range of small- and middle-size separators is aimed for gentle and cost-efficient refining of vegetable oils, such as: rapeseed, palm, olive, sunflower seed, soybean, linseed, cotton, peanut and more. These separators are a key component for processes of continuous degumming, washing and neutralizing of vegetable oils.
hot oil leaving the deodorization column. This ensures that as much heat as possible is recovered from the hot oil. The oil then proceeds to a final heater where it is brought up to the exact temperature required for deodorization, normally using high-pressure steam. Stripping and retention When the oil has reached the designated
Mineral Oil Hydrocarbons (MOSH/MOAH) in Edible Oils
Practical Applications: Regardless of their possible entry routes into the food chain, volatile fractions of MOSH/MOAH can be removed by deodorizing vegetable fats and oils. This model-study identifies the temperatures of deodorization that provide a significant improvement toward minimization of undesired MOSH/MOAH.
The deodorizer distillate (DD) is a byproduct of vegetable oil processing industry and is rich in functional bioactive components. This study aimed to employ phosphorylation modification for DD to produce a new sustainable fatliquor. The bioactive ingredients in DD, namely fatty acids, sterols, and tocopherols, were determined by using HPLC and GLC. The results revealed that the DD sample
Deodorization of vegetable oils. Part I: Modelling the
Deodorization at about 220–230°C appears to be a critical limit beyond which the linolenic isomerization increases very strongly. The newly established model can be a tool for manufacturers to reduce the total trans isomer content of refined oils, and was applied to produce a special selectively isomerized oil for a European Nutritional Project.
They have manufactured till now twelve vacuum systems, introduced successfully in Bulgarian refineries for deodorizing vegetable oils. One of these systems can suck air-steam flow up to 10 kg/h, four systems – up to 15 kg/h, three systems – up to 25 kg/h and four systems – up to 35 kg/h.
