The National Groundnut Improvement Programme focuses on developing groundnut varieties to meet the growing demand and emerging challenges in the value chain. TThe programme is headed by Dr. David Kalule Okello, based at NaSSARI, Serere District. Groundnut is one of the staple crops in Uganda, rich in protein, oil and essentail minerals.
