Fuel and Chemical Properties of Waste Tire Pyrolysis Oil Derived from a Continuous Twin-Auger Reactor, KAUST Repository
Fuel and Chemical Properties of Waste Tire Pyrolysis Oil Derived from a Continuous Twin-Auger Reactor, KAUST Repository
The increasing global population and the rapid industrial development associated therewith have increased the demand for fossil-derived fuel oils. The sources of fossil fuels are limited, and many studies have been being conducted to find alternative fuel sources. Waste tire pyrolysis oil (WTPO) attracts considerable attention as an alternative fuel because its properties are similar to those

1.1. Energy recovery. One of the main ways to recycling used tires o r other waste rubber products is to use. them as a fuel and is referred to as Tire-Derived Fuel (TDF). Used tires have a
A Review of the Desulfurization Processes Used for Waste Tire Pyrolysis Oil
Waste tir e pyrolysis oil (WTPO) has a. higher heating value of 39.1–44 MJ/kg compared to that obtained from other biomass such. as palm (18–20 MJ/kg) or rice husk (15 MJ/kg). Furthermore
Valorization of waste such as waste tires offers a way to manage and reduce urban waste while deriving economic benefits. The rubber portion of waste tires has high potential to produce pyrolysis fuels that can be used for energy production or further upgraded for use as blend fuel with diesel. In the preset work, waste tire oil (WTO) was produced from the pyrolysis of waste tires in an
Tyre pyrolysis oil as an alternative fuel: A review
Abstract. Pyrolysis is a promising technology to extract energy from the waste tyre via converting into useful products i.e. tyre pyrolysis oil (TPO), pyro-gas and solid char. TPO, a dark brown/black colored liquid is used as a fuel in compression ignition (CI) engines, industrial furnaces and power plants etc.
Abstract—This study investigates the reduction of sulphur compounds in crude tyre pyrolysis oil through gas-phase adsorption over molecular sieve. Crude tyre pyrolysis oil was distilled at 300° C using a bench scale distillation set-up consisting of an electric heating mantle, glass round bottom flask and water cooled glass condenser.
Catalytic upgrading of crude tire oil produced from hydrothermal liquefaction of scrap tire using Pd/Al2O3 nanocomposite
Table 3 represents the elemental composition of the crude tire oil and different upgraded oils using hydrothermal process designed based on the central composite method. As shown in Table 3, in comparison to the crude tire oil, the carbon content of the treated oil was improved, thereby increasing the heating value of the upgraded oil.
It has come a long way in having been considered as a potential substitute for crude oil-derived products, or for use in a blend with them. Waste tires contain a fraction of biogenic carbon that mainly comes from their natural rubber content. Therefore, the tire-derived pyrolysis liquids (TDO) can be specified as advanced fuel pool components.
