Recent advances in the extraction, composition analysis
However, the traditional aqueous extraction for extracting camellia oil endured a low extraction rate and was prone to emulsification. The emulsification phenomenon would be alleviated by a new method for the extraction of camellia oil, which was developed the combination of freezing and thawing operations (Yang et al., 2019). This method did
In this study, the effects of different pretreatment (microwave or roasting) and processing (cold pressing, hexane extraction, or aqueous enzymatic extraction) methods on the physicochemical properties, minor components, and antioxidant capacity of Camellia oleifera Abel. seed oil (COSO) were investigated. The results revealed that the fatty
Cold-pressed oil extraction of camellia seeds | IEEE
The tea oil camellia (Camellia oleifera Abel., Theaceae) is notable as an important source of edible oil (known as tea oil or camellia oil) obtained from its seeds in China. Today camellia oil with a high oleic acid content is coming more into the focus of interest since the fatty acid composition is more comparable to olive oil. The process of cold-pressed oil extraction of camellia seeds was
Camellia seed oil, extracted from the seeds of Camellia oleifera Abel., is popular in South China because of its high nutritive value and unique flavor. Nowadays, the traditional extraction methods of hot pressing extraction (HPE) and solvent extraction (SE) are contentious due to low product quality and high environmental impact. Innovative methods such as supercritical fluid extraction (SCFE
Oilseed Extraction Equipment | Cold Oil Press Machine
These oil extraction machines gather vegetable oil from oil-bearing seeds and nuts for food and industrial uses, including biodiesel and other fuels. Our durable, heavy-duty oilseed equipment has an average life span of 60-70 years, operating with maximum productivity and lower processing cost per ton. Download our literature on screw presses
Hence, the objective of this study was to optimize mechanical oil extraction process from Camellia oleifera seeds by maximizing the yield and minimizing the energy consumption. A Box–Behnken design of response surface methodology is adopted for the experiments of mechanical oil extraction from C. oleifera seeds. The effects of experimental
Journal of the American Oil Chemists' Society
This paper reports an efficient aqueous enzymatic extraction (AEE) method for Camellia oleifera seed oil with the aid of response surface analysis. A maximum oil recovery of ~93.5% was obtained when a 2-step AEE process was performed using 0.80% cellulase (v/w) solution at pH 6.0 maintained at 50 °C for 1 h followed by a solution of 0.70% Alcalase® with pH 9.2 at 57 °C for 4.1 h.
The processing technique is one of the key factors affecting the quality of camellia oil. In this study, camellia oils were obtained using four different processing techniques (cold-pressed, roast-pressed, fresh-pressed, and refined), and their triacylglycerols (TAGs) profile, bioactive compound (tocopherols, sterols, squalene, and polyphenols) level, oxidative stability, and volatile
A novel process for extraction of tea oil from Camellia
We describe a novel process for extraction of tea oil preceded by tea saponin extraction from C. oleifera seed kernels. The extraction efficiency obtained with microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) is very high, which the recovery yield is up to 83% in 30 s and the saponins in camellia seed kernels can be completely removed by the second MAE.
Camellia oleifera is a small evergreen tree belonging to the family Theaceae Camellia, which is a unique high-quality woody plant in China 1.The oil extracted from C. oleifera seed kernels has
