Rice Bran Oil Refining Machine
1) Firstly, to pump crude rice bran oil into oil refining tank with heat conduction oil, and the temperature will reach about 70°C-80°C in one hour, then add acid or alkali to separate rice bran oil according to the acid value. After one hour’s processing and 4-6 hours deposit, then to convey soap stock to storage tank;
These technologies increased rice bran oil yield, improved rice bran oil quality, and the bioactive components in the refined rice oil were also effectively maintained. In this part, the traditional chemical refining process and modern physical refining process of rice oil were reviewed to provide references for the refining of rice bran oil.
Processing Technology of Rice Bran Oil
1. Introduction. Rice bran is a byproduct of the rice milling industry obtained from milling of brown rice to produce white rice. It contains 15%–20% of oil. Apart from oil, rice bran is a promising source for proteins, carbohydrates, dietary fiber, vitamins, tocopherol, γ-oryzanol, and phospholipids (Tao, 1989; Houston, 1972; Saunders, 1986).
Rice is one of the most important crops throughout the world, as it contributes toward satisfying the food demand of much of the global population. It is well known that rice production generates a considerable number of by-products, among which rice bran deserves particular attention. This by-product is exceptionally rich in nutrients, since it contains a wide spectrum of macronutrients

The remaining rice bran waste can be used as a fodder due to its high rate of carbohydrate and protein. There are two outputs in this step: crude rice bran oils, and defatted rice bran meal. Rice Bran Oil Refining Process: Basic oil refining steps: clay compound (dewaxing), phosphatides (degumming), fat acid (saponification), dye (bleaching
The production process of rice bran oil involves several stages: Husk Removal: The husk of the rice grain is removed, resulting in a brown rice grain. Bran and Germ Removal: The brown bran layer and rice germ are then removed, leaving behind a white rice grain. Oil Extraction: Rice Bran Oil is first extracted from the bran and germ.
Rice Bran Oil
The steps that occur in a typical rice bran oil refining process, along with the by-products generated are given in Fig. 14.1. Generally, the first step in the refining process with crude rice bran oil is dewaxing or winterizing, although for other vegetable oils the dewaxing step can be done at different times in the refining process.
Abstract: Rice bran oil (RBO) is unique among edible vegetable oils because of its unique fatty acid composition, phenolic compound (γ-oryzanol, ferulic acid) and vitamin E (tocopherol and tocotrienol). It has become a great choice of cooking oil because of its very high burning point, neutral taste and delicate flavour.
Effect of refining process on oryzanol content of rice bran oil
Therefore, the present study was conducted to evaluate the quality and oryzanol content during the crude RBO refining process. Crude RBO was obtained by the reflux method using n-hexane as a solvent, followed by the dewaxing process by cooling and filtering procedure.
The main restriction behind the utilization of rice bran is the instability of the rice bran during storage, as a result of which the extracted RBO is typically accompanied by high FA content (>10 wt%), thus adding the difficulty of the refining of RBO (Wang, Lu, Liu, Jin, & Wang, 2016; Wang, Wang, & Wang, 2017).
