Olivados cold-pressed extraction process explained
The avocados are then washed in a giant water bath. After being given a thoroughly good scrubbing, the skins are removed, along with the stones inside. This leaves just the pulp, and this is where the oil comes from. Cold-pressed extraction process. Back in 2000, Olivado pioneered the cold-pressed extraction method for extra-virgin avocado oil.
Our pioneering cold-pressed extraction method. Olivado’s ground-breaking process takes the pulp of the avocado and mashes it up in a giant blender, turning it into something resembling guacamole. This puree then goes into a centrifuge, where it spins with enough force to separate the oil and the water contained in the pulp.
Virgin avocado oil: An emerging source of functional fruit oil
Cold-pressed extraction. Cold-pressed extraction of avocado oil was initially introduced by Werman and Neeman (1987). They diluted the avocado mesocarp with water at a ratio of 1:3 and agitated the mixture under defined pH (4.5–8), temperatures (25–85 °C) and sodium chloride solution (0–8%) for 30 min before centrifuging to obtain oil.

Avocado Waste Biorefinery: Towards Sustainable Development, MDPI
The increasing demand for avocado consumption has led to a vast generation of waste products. Despite the high nutritional value of avocados, the waste generated from their processing poses a significant environmental challenge. Therefore, the development of a sustainable approach to avocado waste management is a major concern. Biorefinery presents a promising approach to the valorization of
For large scale processing plant, centrifuge separation technology is recommended to extract avocado oil in a continuous and efficient mode. Step One: Fruit washing, destoning, peeling and mash preparation. Avocado fruit washing is performed by immersion and jet showering in order to remove dust from the surface of the fruits.
Avocado oil extraction processes: method for cold-pressed high
In a complete review about avocado oil (Jacobsberg, 1988), the author maintains that the mechanical extraction method compared Cold-pressed extraction: complete process plant from Alfa Laval N on co m m er ci al us e on ly In the late 1990’s, a processing company in New Zealand began production of cold-pressed avocado oil (CPAO) to be sold as
The industrialization around avocado gives as a result a huge amount of waste, for every 1000 kg of avocado processed, only around 78 kg or 85 L of cold pressed avocado oil are produced [5], so
Converting industrial organic waste from the cold-pressed avocado oil
Avocado seeds account for 13% of the waste from industrial production of cold-pressed avocado oil (CPAO). Therefore, the aim of this study was to valorise avocado seeds by converting it into an extruded snack product using a friction cooker and comparing their textural and physical characteristics to extruded brown rice and malted barley ready to eat (RTE) snacks.
A comprehensive approach has been developed toward the agro-industrial management of avocado (Persea americana) biomass waste, which can be transformed into high-value-added products to mitigate global warming, save non-renewable energy, and contribute to health and science.
