A short review of green extraction technologies for rice bran oil
Rice is one of the most important crops throughout the world, as it contributes toward satisfying the food demand of much of the global population. It is well known that rice production generates a considerable number of by-products, among which rice bran deserves particular attention. This by-product is exceptionally rich in nutrients, since it contains a wide spectrum of macronutrients
Conventional methods for rice bran oil (RBO) extraction. A, Solvent extraction method. a), Desired solvent along with plant sample (rice bran); b), Vacuum distillation for removing the solvent; c), Condensing chamber for obtaining liquified RBO; d), Purified RBO from solvent extraction.
Extraction and utilization of rice bran oil: A review extraction
Rice bran oil (RBO) is obtained through extraction of rice bran which is a by-product of the rice milling industries. There are several techniques used for the extraction of the RBO, but solvent

Life cycle assessment of rice bran oil production: a case study in
Environmental problems caused by the food processing industry have always been one of the concerns for the public. Herein, for the first time, a gate-to-gate life cycle assessment (LCA) was employed to evaluate the environmental impact of rice bran oil production. Four subsystems, namely, transportation of the raw rice bran to oil factory, crude oil extraction, oil refining, and oil storage
Another promising use of rice bran involves rice bran oil that can be extracted from rice bran. Several studies have characterized rice bran oil’s superior cooking, nutritional, and sensory properties and have also explained the lack of widespread commercial use of rice bran oil due to economic factors ( Hegsted and Kousik, 1994 ; Hu et al., 1996 ; McCaskill and Zhang, 1999 ).
A short review of green extraction technologies for rice bran oil
Their results show that it is possible to obtain a maximum oil yield of 20.05 g/100 g rice bran in a three-hour extraction in ethanol with 6% of water at 82.5 °C, with a 4:1 w/w solvent-to-bran ratio and a stirring speed of 137.5 rpm. The -. γ. oryzanol content varies between 1527 and 4164 mg/kg of fresh rice bran.
When the solid–liquid ratio increased, the concentration gradient of oil between the rice bran surface and the solvent increased, thereby resulting in a high oil extraction yield , and different solid–liquid ratios (6:1, 8:1, and 10:1 w/v) were selected by Shet et al., obtaining similar results.
Rice Bran Processing Plant, Ferro Oiltek Pvt. Ltd.
The rice bran goes through rice bran & broken rice separator to remove broken rice and whole rice. This process can ensure normal operation of the rice bran oil processing plant, reduce residual oil rate in the meal, reduce solvent consumption and increase the oil yield. The broken rice can be used for sugar and liquor making.
Kamal solvent extraction Pvt. Ltd. is a rice bran oil manufacturing unit established by entrepreneurial vision of Mr. Damodar Das Mundra. Established in the year 1989, with an installed capacity of 50TPD, which was later expanded to 150 TPD & is presently having an operational capacity of 500 TPD.
