Renewable energy in Benin: current situation and future prospects | Clean Energy, Oxford Academic
The evolution of the electrical mix of Benin indicates that, in 2020, natural gas was the first form of energy used to produce electrical energy, representing a proportion of 71.63%. Solar photovoltaic (PV) accounts for 0.30% of the mix by form of energy compared with 1.36% in 2016, as shown in Fig. 3.

A critical analysis of the energy situation in the Benin Republic and its evolution over the last decade
1. Introduction Electricity production is one of the main factors driving development and economic growth in developing and emerging countries, and serves as an input for producing goods and services. According to Marcel (2019) [1], electricity availability has some advantages, mainly in the form of meeting residential and local needs, promoting exports, creating jobs, and fighting poverty.
Energy in Benin. Benin is a coastal country located in the Gulf of Guinea in Western Africa, which is a resource rich region. Energy in Benin has a diverse energy mix and takes several forms including: solar, wind, hydropower, biomass, fossil resources, and mineral resources. Out of this energy mix, about 60% of energy comes from biomass.
Energy efficiency improvement in oil refineries through flare gas recovery technique to meet the emission trading targets
The flare gas recovery allows the refinery to achieve economic saving in the plant's operations. In order to quantify the saving, the analysis on the average LHV of the flare gas was carried on. During the chemical analysis, asides from inert gases and hydrogen sulphide, also the value of the LHV flare gas was evaluated.
The US$29 million project benefits from a US$3.8 million GEF grant and US$10 million from the government of Benin. “Substantial investment from the government of Benin for both these projects indicates a strong political will to fully implement and support these important national investments in modernized and sustainable energy,” Coulibaly
Energy Saving In Refinery Plants And Its Environmental Impact
Abstract:. The efficient use of energy in the petroleum industry is becoming increasingly important. Energy consumption is an important factor which intervene in the crude oil refining cost. In this paper, the different areas where energy consumption can be reduced in the petroleum refining and petrochemical industry are described. Guidelines for energy survey are given.Energy losses once
