Optimizing refining temperatures to reduce the loss of essential fatty acids and bioactive compounds in tea seed oil
Analysis of the oils decolorized at these four temperatures is shown in Table 3.The results indicated that bleaching at 65 C was insufficient to remove the pigments (bleached ratio of 62.5%).Increasing the temperature above 85 C (85, 105 and 125 C) significantly increased the amount of pigments removed (bleached ratios of 81.2%, 82.1% and 84.6%, respectively).
