This article assesses policy and institutional frameworks impacting on vegetable seed production and distribution systems to establish benchmark indicators for successful integration and/or diversification of vegetables into existing farming systems in the humid forest area of Cameroon.
Highlights. We explored how production and cropping systems affect plantain productivity. The average bunch weight was 11.6 kg with a high within field variability. The average yield was 6.8 t/ha/year with a high between-fields variability. A farmer would seem to plant 100 plantains to harvest just 30 or so bunches.
