Oil content of baobab seeds is about 10 – 30%. The cleaned Baobab Seeds are subjected to conditioning in a vertical / horizontal stack cooking kettle. The kettle uses steam for indirectly heating the Baobab Seeds. The kettle is specially designed to achieve a temperature of minimum 110°C at the outlet with a retention time of minimum 60 minutes.
Other unrefined oils, like hemp and flax seed, may have potential benefits related to their plant-based omega-3 fatty acid content. Hemp oil contains 2 grams of omega-3 fatty acid per tablespoon, and flax seed oil contains about 7 grams per tablespoon.
