12. CASTOR BEAN FARM & PROCESSING PLANT, Embassy of Ethiopia
The processing plant will be with 270 thousand liters of castor oil producing capacity per annum. 2. Production Programme. The proposed castor bean farm and castor oil processing plant will begin with 50 per cent capacity of production at their initial stages and will reach to their full capacity in the second year. IV.

Castor Oil: Properties, Uses, and Optimization of Processing Parameters
Yields of up to 80% of the available oil can be obtained by using high-temperature hydraulic pressing in the extraction process.74 The extraction temperature can be controlled by circulating cold water through a pressing machine responsible for cold pressing of the seeds. Cold-pressed castor oil has lower acid and iodine content and is lighter

Extraction and characterization of indigenous Ethiopian castor oil bast
The analysis on chemical composition revealed that the castor oil bast [COB] fiber is composed of 64.5–67.3% cellulose, 16.4–21.5% hemicellulose, 15.8–17.2% lignin, 0.3–0.9% extractive with 4.9–5.3% ash content. FTIR spectra of the extracted fibers also confirmed the presence of cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin and extractives.
Castor oil was extracted by mechanical cold pressing (< 45 0 C) of the seeds of wild castor plant (Ricinus communis L.) found in wet marginal lands of Katsina, Nigeria. Oil yield was 39.43%. The
Castor Oil: Properties, Uses, and Optimization of Processing Parameters
Castor oil seed contains about 30%–50% oil (m/m). 74, 75 Castor oil can be extracted from castor beans by either mechanical pressing, solvent extraction, or a combination of pressing and extraction. 74 After harvesting, the seeds are allowed to dry so that the seed hull will split open, releasing the seed inside.
H. Janson. Engineering. 1974. 4. This paper carried out experimental study, through extraction and characterization of both crude and refined castor oil. Normal hexane was used as solvent for the extraction process. The oil produced was refined through degumming, neutralization and bleaching process using local adsorbent (activated clay).
Optimization of castor seed oil extraction process using response
This work is focused in the study of the oil yield extraction from castor seed using three different seed states called: whole, broken and bare endosperm. Taguchi design was used to determine the
The objective of our work in this study is the extraction and characterization of castor oil (Ricinus communis L) physicochemical characterization for a better appreciation of the oil. Extraction of The castor bean oil is made by the chemical method Soxhlet (extracted with petroleum ether) gave an oil yield of the order of 29.17% and for the
