Extraction of citronella oil from lemongrass (Cymbopogon
This study evaluates the performance of US-MAHD in the extraction of citronella oil from the citronella plant. Extraction is conducted for 90 min at various solvent-plant ratios (v/m) (10:1, 12:1, 14:1), ultrasonic bath temperature (30 °C, 40 °C, 50 °C), and power of microwave oven (150 W, 300 W, 450 W).
The review establishes SC-CO2 extraction of citronella oil as a promising and sustainable alternative to conventional extraction methodologies, offering myriad applications across the pharmaceutical, cosmetics, and food sectors.

Common names include lemon grass, barbed wire grass, silky heads, citronella grass, cha de Dartigalongue, fever grass, tanglad, serai, hierba Luisa, or gavati chahapati. Lemongrass is a plant.
Essential Oil Extracted from Cymbopogon citronella Leaves by
As seen in Figure 1(b), the extraction yield of C. citronella essential oil reduced significantly with the extraction temperature going up from 20°C to 40°C. Thus, there are obviously a large number of the essential oils extracted during the SFE, from 2.6% to 4.0%.
The commercialisation of citronella oil has led to the formation of small-scale citronella oil extraction facilities (Torres and Tio 2001). Ohmic-heated hydro-distillation has been proposed as an alternative method for citronella oil extraction because the proposed prototype size is suitable for small- or medium-scale extraction facilities.
A COMPREHENSIVE REVIEW ON LEMONGRASS (CYMBOPOGON

Prepare the Soil: Citronella grass prefer slightly acidic soil with a pH range of 6.0 to 6.8. Amend the soil with compost or well-rotted manure to improve drainage and nutrient content. Plant the Rhizomes or Divisions: Plant the rhizomes or divisions 12 to 18 inches apart and 2 to 4 inches deep.
Preliminary Study: Kinetics of Oil Extraction from Citronella
The aim of this study is to know and verify the kinetics and mechanism of ohmic heated hydro distillation of citronella grass based on a second order model. In this study, ohmic heated hydro distillation is used to extract essential oils from citronella grass. The extraction was carried out in eight extraction cycles of 15 minutes to 3 hours
A proposed method for citronella oil extraction was developed with the application of ohmic heated hydro-distillation. The objective was to compare the performance of three different extraction
