The chemical composition and heavy metal content of sesame
Extracted oil was stored in storage tanks, and subsequently, oil filtration was conducted to isolate the waste. A sample of crude oil (virgin sesame oil) was prepared from sesame oil without further treatment. Then, the refined sesame oil was obtained after neutralization, bleaching, and deodorization (Botha et al., 2000).
Technical information of the contested project. Created in 1973 and inaugurated in 1981, SONARA is a topping reforming refinery. SONARA places at the disposal of the market the following petroleum products: butane, gasoline, jet fuel, kerosene, fuel oil, distillate, fuel oil. The Limbé refinery has a theoretical capacity of 2,100,000 tons/year.
The chemical composition and heavy metal content of sesame
Roasting is an important step in sesame (Sesamum indicum L.) processing. The current research was undertaken to evaluate the oil content, fatty acid (FA) profiles, and physicochemical characteristics of oil recovered from sesame roasted by different methods (cooker oven, stovetop pan, microwave, and electric frying pan).
Abstract. Sesame is principally used to generate oil, which is produced by chemical refining or pressing. Sesame meal, as a main byproduct of sesame oil extraction, is usually discarded, causing resource waste and economic loss. Sesame meal is rich in sesame protein and three types of sesame lignans (sesamin, sesamolin, and sesamol).
Effect of Chemical Refining on the Reduction of β-Carboline
The production of pressed fragrant sesame seed oil leads to a large amount of sesame meal, which can be used to produce refined sesame seed oil though solvent extraction and the subsequent refining process (Figure 1). Whereas β-carbolines (harman and norharman) are non-polar HAAs with good solubility in leaching solvents (e.g., hexane), the β
β-carbolines (harman and norharman) are potentially mutagenic and have been reported in some vegetable oils. Sesame seed oil is obtained from roasted sesame seeds. During sesame oil processing, roasting is the key procedure to aroma enhancement, in which β-carbolines are produced. Pressed sesame seed oils cover most market share, while leaching solvents are used to extract oils from the

The chemical composition and heavy metal content of sesame
Traditional (Ardeh oil) and industrial method (cold pressing method: virgin and refined sesame oil) oil extraction was studied to compare the quality and heavy metal content of extracted oils. The chemical properties (fatty acid composition, peroxide, anisidine, acid values, and TOTOX) and heavy metal contents were investigated.
high oil content. Sesame seed contains close to 50 wt% oil.[3] Sesame oil is composed of the following fatty acids: linoleic acid (41%), oleic acid (39%), palmitic acid (8%), stearic acid (5%), and other components in small amounts.[4] (Composition may vary depending on seed and oil variety.)
