The composition, extraction, analysis, bioactivities, bioavailability and applications in food system of flaxseed (Linum usitatissimum L.) oil: A
Some researchers found that the flaxseed oil extracted by supercritical CO 2 had higher content of ω-3 and ω-6 fatty acids, phenols and lignans (Khattab et al., 2013), and the yield was about 27% higher than mechanical pressing (Pilat and Zadernowski, 2010, ).
Quality of flaxseed oil obtained by supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) and accelerated solvent extraction (ASE) was evaluated and compared with that of the conventional solvent extraction (SE

An aqueous enzymatic process assisted by ultrasound extraction (AEP-UE) was applied to the extraction of oil from flaxseed ( Linum usitatissimum L. ). The highest oil recovery of 68.1% was obtained when ground flaxseed was incubated with 130 U/g of cellulase, pectinase, and hemicellulase for 12 h, at 45 °C and pH 5.0.

A comprehensive review of the health benefits of flaxseed oil in relation to its chemical composition and comparison with other omega-3-rich oils
Flaxseed (Linum usitatissimum L) is an ancient perennial plant species regarded as a multipurpose plant owing to its richness in omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) including α-linolenic acid (ALA). The extensive biochemical analysis of flaxseed resulted in the identification of its bioactive, i.e., lignans with potential application in the improvement of human health. Flaxseed oil
Flaxseed is the chief oilseed crop that is grown in many regions of the world for medicinal and nutritional purposes. It has been used for oil and fiber since centuries. Flaxseed has an enormous role in functional foods for its nutritional and pharmaceutical values. Among the various components of flaxseed lignans, phenolic acids, proteins and oil are of the main interest. Oil and lignans have
Effect of ultrasonic treatment on extraction and fatty acid profile of flaxseed oil
The extracted oil was subjected to GC analysis to determine -3 fatty acid. The recovery of flaxseed oil was higher with hexane followed by dichloromethane. The ultrasonic treatment ω at frequency of 40 kHz, temperature of 30 C, extraction time of 40 min and solid to solvent ratio: 1:10 gave best results for extraction.
(DOI: 10.15586/QAS.V13I1.783) Flaxseed is rich in ?-linolenic acid (ALA), lignans, proteins and dietary fibers, which has been considered as an important food ingredient. As one of most functional ingredients in flaxseed, flaxseed oil could provide many potential health benefits, such as cardiovascular protection, anti-tumor, anti-inflammatory, live protection, diabetes treatment, etc. Besides
