Field tests at Canadian Natural Resources Limited with a prototype volute screw press showed a linear correlation between the CDI and the filter cake dry solids content produced by the volute screw press.

The Waste Activated Sludge inlet contains a level of 0.4% Total Solids and exits VOLUTE as a pumpable cake of 4% delivering a reduction of 89% of the sludge volume .
