Refining capacity recently increased from 1.2m to 1.5m tonnes per year and the plan is to start processing crude oil from the Sangomar field. China starts Oil Refinery Construction in Gwadar, Dunya News
An oil refinery will be built in Phase 2 of the Gwadar Free Zone and the initial works have been started by the 15-member Chinese team consisting of engineers and other technical specialists. After China completes the Gwadar Oil Refinery project, crude oil will be purified and converted into gasoline, diesel and other petroleum products.
