Optimization of Bleaching Process, AOCS
As the focus of this paper would suggest, optimization of the bleaching process is considerably important to both (1) achieving high quality refined oil products and (2) the economic viability of the oil purification process. Figure 1. Processing efficiency, process-dependent removal of contaminants.
The crude vegetable oil from above mentioned two ways of extracting, oil pressing and/or solvent extraction, will be pumped into oil refinery units to produce cooking oil at various grades. The main equipment of oil refinery is various kinds of vessels and tanks carrying on different tasks with additives.
Oil Bleaching for Edible Oil Refinery Plant, Oil Mill Machinery
Oil Bleaching. Oil bleaching is carried out before deodorization in an edible oil refinery. The process removes color, as well as residual phosphatides, metals and soaps. To do this, clay is added to the oil then heated, upon which it absorbs pigmentation. Lastly, the oil-clay mixture is filtered and the spent cake is dried to remove the oil.
Continuous solvent extraction is the most modern way of recovering oil from spent bleaching earth which is the disposal of edible oil refinery plant. In comparison with the rest of edible oil extraction processes, continuous solvent extraction features less labor, higher oil yield and less maintenance. It is a new and state of art technology
Complete Turnkey Shea Butter Processing Plant Manufacturer
The pressed cake/meal containing about 15% to 18% butter is then processed by Solvent Extraction to bring down residual oil content to less than 1.5%. This De-oiled cake with less than 1.5% residual butter is used as a fuel for combustion in a boiler for steam generation. This is another speciality of GOYUM Shea Butter Extraction Plant.
In comparison, solvent extraction with hexane (the primary solvent used worldwide) will remove all but about ½% of residual oil, uses less horse power, and requires less maintenance. It is relatively efficient and reliable, and this is one reason why solvent extraction is the primary means of separating large tonnages of oil from protein meal.

Oil Pressing Process: The cleaned seeds undergo a pre-pressing stage using a screw oil press machine. This step extracts a portion of the oil from the seeds and leaves behind oil-rich cake. Oil Extracting Process: The pre-pressed cake is then subjected to solvent extraction with the help of a solvent extractor.
By Guru July 27, 2023. Expeller pressing is a mechanical method for extracting oil from raw materials, such as seeds, nuts and algae. It is one of the most widely used methods in the oil industry, as it can produce high-quality oils with high efficiency and low cost. In this article, we will explain the expeller pressing technique, its
Recovery of Vegetable Oil from Spent Bleaching Earth
The bleaching stage in an edible oil refining process produces large amounts of spent bleaching earth (SBE) which contains high quantities of low-quality residual oil (20–50% w/w).
The solvent is removed by heat and vacuum to obtain the crude oil. Expellers will leave a residual oil content in the oil-cake of about S-8%. Solvent extraction removes nearly all the oil, leaving only about 0.5% in the residue. Screw expellers in large mills can usually process between 10 and 100 t of oilseed .in 24 h.
