The thermal effect of the deodorizer will destroy the oil flavor and the heat sensitive color pigments. In palm oil, the thermal breakdown of carotene leads to color reduction or the heat bleaching. Advantages of Tinytech Deodorizer Plant. Lower Investment; Small Area Required; Excellent For Palm Oil, Soya Oil, Coconut Oil and Sunflower Oil
Deodorization systems
The Imcopa soybean oil refinery in Brazil decided on an upgrade path to tackle very high steam costs, plus problems with poor heat recovery in the company’s existing plant. Benefiting from the Alfa Laval retrofit concept, Imcopa upgraded an existing deodorizer and installed a new neutralization and bleaching line , plate heat exchangers
The deodorizer distillate (DD) is a byproduct of vegetable oil processing industry and is rich in functional bioactive components. This study aimed to employ phosphorylation modification for DD to produce a new sustainable fatliquor. The bioactive ingredients in DD, namely fatty acids, sterols, and tocopherols, were determined by using HPLC and GLC. The results revealed that the DD sample
Effects of chemical refinement on the quality of coconut oil
The contents of β-sitosterol, stigmasterol, and campesterol in the fully refined coconut oil decreased by 35, 42, and 39%, respectively, compared to the CCO. The contents of total and individual sterols declined markedly ( P < 0.05) as refinement progressed, consistent with the results reported by Van Hoed et al. (2019).
1.1. Chemical Refining of Oil. Chemical refining is the traditional method used since ancient times. It can be used for all fats and oils even when they have been slightly degraded. Each step of the refining process has specific functions for removing some undesirable compounds. Chemical refining follows six processes:
Physical Refining of Coconut Oil: Effect of Crude Oil Quality

50%). Coconut oil can be extracted through wet extraction and dry extraction methods. Coconut oil refining is usually carried out on dry extracted coconut oil and generally includes the bleaching, deodorizing, and deacidification stages. Coconut oil can be used for a variety of food products, including processed into
The effect of consecutive steps of refining on squalene
The highest reduction in squalene content of the oils was detected during deodorization. The effect of refining steps on the amount of squalene in vegetable oils was found to be significant (p < 0.05). Olive oil has been considered an important source of squalene, even after it has been refined, compared to seed oils.
