EXTRACTION OF OIL FROM DATURA STRAMONIUM SEEDS AS
This study is investigating the potential of a Botswana indigenous, non-edible, seed bearing plant, Datura stramonium, commonly known locally as mokhure plant for the production of bio-diesel. Figure.1:- D. stramonium tree with flowers&pods Figure.2:- D. stramonium pod with seeds Datura stramonium is a foul-smelling, erect, annual, freely
Most seed oils are edible while some are used generally as raw material for soap production, chocolate, margarine, and recently in biodiesel formulations as potential candidates capable of replacing fossil fuels which are costly and destructive to the environment. Oilseeds are a green and major reservoir which when properly exploited can be used sustainably for the production of chemicals at

/kg (roasted), peroxide values of chia seed oils extracted by Soxhlet extraction system were determined between 2.17 (non-roasted) and 8.53 meqO 2 /kg (roasted). Total wax contents of chia seed oils ranged between 56.74 mg/kg (roasted seed oil obtained by cold press system) to 138.87 mg/kg (non-roasted seed oil extracted by Soxhlet extraction).
7.2.1 Cold Pressed Oil. Nowadays, and comparing with oils obtained by conventional solvent extractions, cold-pressed oils attracted much more worldwide interest thanks to their nutritional and health benefits as well as their richness in bioactive components (Nederal et al. 2012), and leads to an increase in the demand for bioactive compounds of plant origin (Czaplicki et al. 2011).
Effect of cold press and Soxhlet extraction systems on total
The caper seed oils contained 54.125 (cold press) and 86.63 mg/100 g (Soxhlet) total flavonoid. Total carotenoid and chlorophyll contents of seed oils extracted by cold press were found high. In addition, total phenolic, total flavonoid, and antioxidant activity values of seed oils extracted by Soxhlet were detected as higher.

Extraction of plant seed oil. Materials used for experimentation include matured seeds (obtained from ripened fruits) of Sclerocarya birrea, Tylosema esculentum, Schiziophyton rautanenii and J. curcas plant species harvested from Botswana's indigenous woodlands. In order to maintain oil for experimentation as close to its natural state as
