The goal is to move forward the company's project in Rwanda as quickly as possible: the construction of a coltan refinery in the industrial park south of Kigali. Rwanda to boost local production of edible oil with US$10m
Rwanda produces at least 80,000 metric tonnes of edible oil every year and imports an average of 125,000 metric tonnes. In 2019, Rwanda only exported 37,399 kilogrammes of cooking oil, which generated Rwf257.8 million (US$256,000) while re-exports were equivalent to 42,664,161 kilogrammes worth Rwf33.7 billion (US$33.5m).

A few points to note about this data: Renewable energy here is the sum of hydropower, wind, solar, geothermal, modern biomass and wave and tidal energy. Traditional biomass – the burning of charcoal, crop waste, and other organic matter – is not included. This can be an important energy source in lower-income settings.
Most of the products are imported from Kenya and a small amount from Tanzania. Rwanda has a natural reserve of methane gas in Lake Kivu; it is estimated that the lake has 55 billion cubic metres of methane gas, with a further 150 to 250 million cubic metres of methane being generated annually (2009).
