A short review of green extraction technologies for rice bran oil
Rice is one of the most important crops throughout the world, as it contributes toward satisfying the food demand of much of the global population. It is well known that rice production generates a considerable number of by-products, among which rice bran deserves particular attention. This by-product is exceptionally rich in nutrients, since it contains a wide spectrum of macronutrients
Rice bran oil (RBO) is popular in several countries such as Japan, India, Korea, China and Indonesia as a cooking oil. It has been shown that RBO is an excellent cooking and salad oil due to its high smoke point and delicate flavor. The nutritional qualities and health effects of rice bran oil are also established. RBO is rich in unsaponifiable fraction (unsap), which contains the

Rice bran and rice bran oil stabilization RBO is considered as perfect and high-class cooking oil because of its low level of linolenic acid and its potential to lower serum cholesterol level. After milling, oil is very prone to degrade into FFA and glycerol by lipase activity, making it unfit for consumption.
Rice bran contains 18–22 wt% of oil [4], [5]. Rice bran oil can be used in the production of bakery foods as it improves the quality of cooking [5]. Rice bran extracts are used in cosmetics, in the treatment of skin-related disorders (e.g. melanin-related disorders), and for minimizing wrinkles due to their high antioxidant potential [6].

The yield of rice bran oil is much higher when using supercritical fluid extraction. The wax, phosphorus, and free fatty acid can be removed, and the loss of glutamate in rice bran oil can also be reduced, and finally the high-quality rice bran oil can be obtained. 4.4.3.3 Organic Solvent Leaching Method
When the solid–liquid ratio increased, the concentration gradient of oil between the rice bran surface and the solvent increased, thereby resulting in a high oil extraction yield , and different solid–liquid ratios (6:1, 8:1, and 10:1 w/v) were selected by Shet et al., obtaining similar results.
Composition, industrial processing and applications of rice bran γ
Abstract. Rice bran oil (RBO) (20–25 wt% in rice bran) is a unique rich source of commercially-important bioactive phytochemicals, most of them of interest in nutrition, pharmacy and cosmetics. The unsaponifiable constituents of RBO include mainly tocols (vitamin E, 0.10–0.14%) and γ-oryzanol (esters of trans- ferulic acid with sterols

Rice Bran Oil Extraction Solvent Process, Flow Chart
Increasing the extraction temperature from 40°C to 60°C and solvent (hexane and isopropanol) to bran ratios (w/w) of 2:1 and 3:1 increased the RBO yield. Extraction at 60°C for ten minutes with 3:1 solvent to bran ratio using hexane solvent yielded about 3.6% more oil, while extraction with isopropanol produces 6.4% more oil than at 40°C.
