Ginger essential oil: Chemical composition, extraction
The oil's composition changed depending on the steam flow rate, and each steam flow rate had its primary component in the oil (Fitriady et al., 2017). In another study, SD techniques were used to extract EOs of ginger from Guinean and Chines variety with 90 components identified, where zingiberene was a primary compound with 19.89% and 31.1%

Characterization of the ginger oil was made in accordance with essential oil international
Extraction and Volatile Compounds in Ginger Essential Oil
We extracted ginger essential oil (GEO) using supercritical CO2 and steam distillation. A chemical composition comparison by GC-MS showed that the main components of the extracted GEOs were

Ginger (Zingiber officinalis, Roscoe) is one of the most widely used species of the ginger family and is a common condiment for various foods and beverages. Ginger can be extracted using a variety of methods such as Soxhlet Extraction, Ultrasound assisted extraction, and autoclave agitator etc. Optimal extraction conditions: at temp 80oC, at a 60 min extraction time. This study applied that
The conventional extraction method (hydro-distillation, steam distillation, solvent extraction/liquid–liquid, Soxhlet) and advanced method of extraction (Supercritical CO 2, Subcritical water, Solvent-free, Microwave-assisted, and Microwave hydro-diffusion and gravity) have been described. Furthermore, applications of GEO in the
Steam distillation extraction of ginger essential oil: Study
The aim of the current study was to investigate the effect of variation of time process and steam flow rate in the yield on ginger essential oil steam distillation extraction process. It was found that the best operation condition was 0.35 ml/s as the steam flow rate which yields 2.43% oil. The optimum time process was predicted at 7.5 hours.
Distillation Steam distillation. Steam distillation is the most widely used method for plant essential oil extraction (Reverchon and Senatore 1992). The proportion of essential oils extracted by steam distillation is 93% and the remaining 7% can be further extracted by other methods (Masango 2005).
Steam distillation extraction of ginger essential oil: Study
The EO was separated when the distillate was obtained in the form of oil and water mixture. With a material-solvent ratio (b/v) of 1:8, 1.71% w/w was the greatest yield achieved in 600 W. Fitriady
Extraction through steam distillation. For ginger oleoresins’ extraction through steam distillation, the method previously cited by Manzan et al. . was followed. Steam was generated using autoclave (SANYO, MLS-3780, Japan) and passed through bed of ginger powder. Steam was then condensed and collected in a chamber.
