Screw press extraction of Sacha inchi seeds: Oil yield
In this work, the effects of operating parameters, such as drying temperature (60, 75, 90 °C) and press head temperature (60, 75, 90 °C), on oil yields from Sacha inchi (Plukenetia volubilis L.) seeds were studied using a single screw press machine. It is found that non-dried Sacha inchi samples gave a high oil yield compared to dried samples

Hydraulic Cold-Pressed Extraction of Sacha Inchi Seeds: Oil
The hydraulic oil press machine (BY-180, Henan Beyrong Machinery Co.,Ltd., Shang- hai, China) was used for extracting the sacha inchi oil (SIO). The machine, as depicted
Sacha inchi seeds were purchased from Rattanakiri, Cambodia. The seeds were manually de-shelled and ground before being defatted with a hydraulic press machine. Sacha inchi oil was extracted by using cold press extraction with a hydraulic press machine (BY-180, China) under pressure 50MPa for 40 min at a temperature of 25 °C.

to achieve high oil yields [4,19–21]. A previous study by Muangrat et al. [4] employed mechanical extraction using a single screw press machine with a feeding rate of 1.5 kg/h, a high drying temperature of 90 C, and a press head temperature of 90 C, resulting in a maximum oil yield of 40.63 wt.% on a wet basis. However, this approach involved the
Cold-Pressed Sacha Inchi Oil: High in Omega-3 and Prevents
The ability of oil supplementation to inhibit various metabolic syndromes has been recognized. However, there are currently no studies determining the effects of oil supplements on healthy conditions. Plukenetia volubilis L., also known as Sacha inchi, is a seed rich in essential unsaturated fatty acids that improves metabolic syndrome diseases, such as obesity and nonalcoholic fatty liver
Regarding liver histology, rats given Sacha inchi supplements showed lower TG accumulation and fat droplet distribution in the liver than those given lard supplements, with fat areas of approximately 14.19 ± 6.49% and 8.15 ± 2.40%, respectively. In conclusion, our findings suggest that Sacha inchi oil is a plant source of ω-3 fatty acids

Sacha inchi is a perennial, perfect plant with hairy, heart-shaped leaves. The upper side of the leaves is shiny and deep green, the leaf edge is serrated. The leaves are 10–12 cm long and 8–10 cm broad; the leaf stem is 2–6 cm long. On the base, there are frequently stipules. The male flowers develop first.
