Burkina Faso to build an oil refinery | APAnews, African
APA – Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso) – The head of the transitional government announced Friday that the country plans to increase its energy capacity. “Negotiations are continuing with the Islamic Republic of Iran for the construction of an oil refinery,” Prime Minister Apolinaire Kyelem told the members of the parliament.
A few points to note about this data: Renewable energy here is the sum of hydropower, wind, solar, geothermal, modern biomass and wave and tidal energy. Traditional biomass – the burning of charcoal, crop waste, and other organic matter – is not included. This can be an important energy source in lower-income settings.
Greenhouse gas and energy balance of Jatropha biofuel
Jatropha curcas has been introduced as a low-cost energy crop in Burkina Faso for the production of straight vegetable oil (SVO) and biodiesel. It is cultivated in different plantation systems including smallholder inter-plantings with annual crops, large-scale monoculture, afforestation on marginal land, in traditional hedge systems along contour stone walls, and in living fences.
In Burkina Faso, vegetable edible oils are essentially made up of locally produced oils and imported ones. During 2009–2010, the demand for oil on the Burkinabe market was in the order of 60,000–65,000 tons, while the annual production capacity of processing units was estimated at 20,000 tons.
Oils Fats Refining Equipment and Turnkey Plants, Myande Group
We can provide edible oil refining plant equipment with capacity ranging from 50 t/d to 4,000 t/d for soybean oil, rapeseed oil, sunflower seed oil, cottonseed oil, rice bran oil, palm oil, corn oil, peanut oil, linseed oil, animal fats and oils, chicken fat, butter, fish oil and etc. Refining is the last step in edible oil processing.
Energy in Burkina Faso. Energy in Burkina Faso is sourced primarily from diesel and heavy fuel, with some access to hydropower and solar. [1] Burkina Faso produced 69 kilotonne of oil equivalent (ktoe) of energy in 2015, 89.8% of which was generated from fossil fuels. [2] Final consumption of electricity was 86 ktoe. [2]
Cleaner production in Burkina Faso: Case study of fuel
Burkina Faso is a landlocked country located in West Africa. The energy situation in Burkina Faso is characterized by low access to energy. According to a report on sustainable energy for all (SE4All), more than 90% of the population has no access to modern cooking fuels.

The key fact to consider with the global shea industry is that it is dominated by supplies of the nuts from the western subspecies of shea trees—Vitellaria paradoxa ssp. paradoxa—due to the main demand being for the shea stearin-rich fraction
