INDOPALM
Pacific Indopalm Indutries established in Dumai city, Riau province, East cost of Sumatra Island, the biggest volume Refinery operation area and the largest palm oil products exporting city in Indonesia. Established in December 2009 and in 2013 additional plants installed to increase the capacity by 120% to cover the palm oil products growing
The various fraction of palm oil allows it to be used in different types of food products such as margarine, frying oil, and cocoa butter substitute. In fractionation, proper control of the fractionation conditions is important to produce the fractions with desirable stearin and olein quality.
Palm Oil and Palm Kernel Oil Refining and Fractionation Technology
The acidity of crude palm kernel oil can vary, depending on quality, from 2.0 to 6.0%. Poor crude palm kernel oil may show 1.0R/10Y (Lovibond 1″) while good crude palm kernel oil may be no more than 0.4R/4Y (Lovibond 1″); this depends largely upon the way the kernels have been pressed and extracted, shipped, and stored (Patterson, 1992).
Continuous Dry Fractionation Technology iConFrac. Today, continuous fractionation of palm oil is rightly regarded as the future of dry fractionation technology. True to its technological leadership, after many years of extensive R&D and industrial validation with selected partners, Desmet has introduced iConFrac TM to the global market, a real
Small scale palm oil production in Kigoma, Tanzania.
Palm oil production in Africa and especially in Tanzania is dominated by small-scale subsistence farming systems that are characterised by low productivity and low yields, even in regions with the most suitable cultivation conditions. Oil palm trees have been farmed in the Kigoma region for over 100 years.
The trends were similar to those found in tocopherols and reported by Kumar et al. [Citation 7] Sterol levels in fractionated PMFs were comparable to that in reported palm oils (300–700 mg/kg), but were significantly lower than those in common oils, e.g., rape oil (4500–11300 mg kg −1), soybean oil (1800–4500 mg kg −1), and sunflower oil (2400–5000 mg kg −1).
Palm Oil and Palm Kernel Oil Refining and Fractionation Technology
Palm olein is a resulting liquid fraction from fractionation of palm oil with a relatively high oleic acid content of about 41.5–47.7 % and is more cost-effective compared to commercial oleic acid as a high proportion of palm olein can be obtained in one single step of fractionation (Derawi et al., 2014; Gibon, 2012; Tarmizi and Ismail, 2008).
Fractionation of Palm kernel oil (PKO) is primarly done to make part of the oil suitable as a cocoa butter replacement fat. In order to reply to a demand from specialty fat producers for fully automa Desmet is a leading global provider of custom-engineered plants and equipment for the food, feed and biofuels industries.
Fractionation of Palm Kernel Oil by Short Path Distillation
Fractionation of palm kernel oil (PKO) by short path distillation (SPD) at two feed flow rates (135 g/h and 195 g/h) and six distillation temperatures, TDis (200, 210, 220, 230, 240 and 250 °C) was investigated. Other distillation parameters, such as vacuum pressure (0.001 mbar), blade rotation speed (400 rpm) and temperature of the feed material (60 °C) were kept constant. The fractionated
As part of the palm oil supply chain, IOI Edible Oils Sdn. Bhd. (IOIEO) plays a vital role in processing crude palm oil, and palm kernel. IOIEO strives to improve its operations and is committed to reducing its carbon footprint. Improvements are made by heat recovery, water reuse, implementing process changes and installing new equipment.
