Flaxseed oil recovered by pressing was obtained from a laboratory mechanical screw press as shown in Fig. 1.The capacity of the screw press was 5 kg seed/h. Samples (1000 g) with moisture content of 8.2% (d.b.) were fed from the hopper to the screw press on demand by gravity and the oil is collected at oil outlet point.
