Extraction, phytochemistry, nutritional, and therapeutical potentials of rice bran oil: A review
Rice bran oil (RBO) can be extracted chemically using solvent or mechanically by hydrolytic pressing. Solvent extraction covers a wide range of techniques, including traditional solvent extraction, ultrasound assisted extraction, supercritical fluid extraction, and enzyme assisted extraction (Fraterrigo Garofalo et al., 2021a ).
The oil yields of CE, CCE, and UCE were 14.27, 17.31, and 16.68 g oil/100 g rice bran, respectively. The oxidative stability of CE and CCE oils was higher than HE and UCE oils, as evidenced by the synchrotron-radiation-based Fourier transform infrared (SR-FTIR) absorption peak.
Rice Bran Oil: Emerging Trends in Extraction, Health Benefit, and Its Industrial Application
Kumar et al. (2016) compared conventional extraction methods with UAE and MAE methods and found that methanol extracts around 96% of the oil in rice bran and (85.0 ± 0.2) mg/kg of γ-oryzanol. Crude oil and total phenolic contents of microwave treated methanolic extract (80%) are significantly higher than those of ultrasonication and conventional solvent extracts.

Response surface methodology applied to the analysis of rice bran oil extraction process with ethanol, Da Costa Rodrigues, 2010, International
The main goal of this work was to evaluate the ethanol performance on the extraction process of rice bran oil. The influence of process variables, solvent hydration and temperature was evaluated using the response surface methodology, aiming to maximise the soluble substances and γ-oryzanol transfer and minimise the free fatty acids extraction and the liquid content in the underflow solid.
The extraction efficiencies of conventional (CE) and laboratory-scale CMAE processes relative to total amount (from Soxhlet) were evaluated for both soybean and rice bran oil (Fig. 2).When CE method was used, only 48.15 ± 2.24% could be extracted from soy flours at the combination of highest temperature (73 C) and longest extraction time (21 min), vs. 80.20 ± 4.10% in the case of CMAE, a
A short review of green extraction technologies for rice bran oil, Springer
The oil extraction from rice bran, that is usually wasted, is an example of biorefinery valorization of food by-product in the perspective of an integrated approach and of a circular economy. The RBO and -oryzanol green extraction. γ. techniques, resumed in Table 2, are discussed below.
Keywords: rice bran oil; extraction of RBO; utilization of RBO INTRODUCTION The RBO is known as a wonder oil for its numerous health benefits. It has a number of advantages over other edible oils

The moisture content of the rice bran was 8.60% 0.05% (w/w), which was determined using the oven drying method at 105 2 C. The oil content and protein content of the rice bran were 20.64% 0.02% and 14.47% 0.02%, determined according to the national standard methods GB 5009.6-2016 and GB 5009.5-2016, respectively.
