Towards aflatoxin-free peanut production in Burkina Faso
Burkina Faso. In Burkina Faso, groundnuts still remain an important sector in the oilseeds sector as seen from the impressive gradual growth in production which increased from 244,922 in 2007 to 515,672 tons in 2016 and around 530,190 tons in 2019. Once the leading cash crop in Burkina Faso, groundnuts have gradually lost their place to other

Study on antioxidant activity of crude peanut oils and refined
Vegetable oils are among the foodstuffs produced and consumed in abundance by the population in Burkina Faso. These edible oils are nutrient sources for health. However, the oxidation of edible oils is a phenomenon that leads to their degradation. Hence, the objectives of this study were to determine the antioxidants compounds, to evaluate the antioxidant activity of vegetable oils produced in
This work was carried out at the National Public Health Laboratory of Burkina Faso. Crude peanut oils were collected from production sites and some markets while refined cottonseeds oils were collected from production factories based in the industrial zone of Kossodo in Ouagadougou-Pabré and Bobo Dioulasso.

Thus, 32 samples of crude peanut oils and refined cottonseed oils were analyzed. α-Tocopherol was determined by High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC), total phenolic compounds and DPPH by spectrophotometry. The α-tocopherol averages are 10.89 and 56.44 mg/100 g for peanut oils and cottonseed oils, respectively (p < 0.05).
A few points to note about this data: Renewable energy here is the sum of hydropower, wind, solar, geothermal, modern biomass and wave and tidal energy. Traditional biomass – the burning of charcoal, crop waste, and other organic matter – is not included. This can be an important energy source in lower-income settings.

Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) is a major food and cash crop in Burkina Faso. Due to the growing demand for raw oilseeds, there is an increasing interest in groundnut production from traditional rain-fed areas to irrigated environments. However, despite implementation of many initiatives in the past to increase groundnut productivity and production, the groundnut industry still struggles to

In the past, the increase in production was in line with the strong population growth in Burkina Faso (SI Fig. 4). This increase was achieved by enhanced yields and simultaneously expanded
It is the main oilseed crop (22% oil content) grown in the country [10] and Burkina Faso is one of the biggest producers in sub-Saharan Africa; production was estimated at 731,665 t in 2006 [20], but dropped to 529,620 t in 2011 and 450,000 in 2012.
