The Gambia furthers oil exploration through progressive
Recently exceeding the $2 billion mark, the west African country’s economy is set to grow by a further 5.1% this year. Amidst this newfound prosperity, petroleum industry laws and regulations
“As indicated earlier, Gambia is not producing oil hence will continue to import oil for domestic use in the short and medium term. However, as part of the long term local content and value addition drive and given the strategic location of the country, we intend to process and add value for local consumptions as well as export.”
Gambia | AFREC
Crude Oil production is about 1,074 ktoe as mentioned in the AFREC’s 2020 energy balance. There is no oil refinery in the country and as a result, all refined products including jet fuel and gasoline have to be imported. The total primary energy supply in 2018 was 30,212ktoe .The country produces a modest amount of coal.
The main petroleum consuming sectors are electricity generation, transport, and construction. The Gambia is heavily dependent on imports to meet its requirements of petroleum derivatives, including the importation of diesel fuel for generating electricity. In 2004 The Gambia imported 113 million litres of petroleum products.
Formation and reduction of 3-monochloropropane-1,2-diol
As shown in Table 1, deodorization was a critical factor that influenced the formation of 3-MCPD esters in peanut oil among the refining steps. In order to examine if there were any differences in the contents of 3-MCPD esters between different ways of oil production, hot pressing and solvent extracting were introduced for crude oil production.
Abstract. Even though significant attempts have appeared in literature, the current perception of co-movement of commodity prices appear inadequate and static. In particular we focus on price movements between crude oil futures and a series of agricultural commodities and gold futures.
Presence of phytosterol oxides in crude vegetable oils
The content of phytosterol oxidation products was determined in samples of crude vegetable oils: peanut, sunflower, maize, palm nut, and lampante olive oils that were intended for refining and not for direct consumption and found the 7 alpha- and 7 beta-hydroxy derivatives of beta-sitosterol, stigmasterol, and campesterol and the 7-keto-beta- sitosterol were the principal phytesterol oxides
Refining affects the physico-chemical and quality parameters of the product, and Table 3 reports the results obtained during durum wheat oil refining. The amount of FFA in crude oil (11.58%) significantly decreased during refining, being practically eliminated at the end of the refining process.
Dangote Refinery Receives 6th batch of Crude oil barrels
Exactly a month ago, Dangote Refinery received the first one million barrels of Agbami crude grade from Shell International Trading and Shipping Company Limited (STASCO), one of the largest trading companies in Nigeria as well as globally, trading over 8 million barrels of crude oil per day. Since then, Dangote Refinery has been receiving in
The effect of the industrial chemical refining process on the physicochemical properties, fatty acid composition, and bioactive minor components of peanut oil was studied. The results showed that the moisture and volatile matter content, acid value, peroxide value, and p-anisidine value were significantly changed (P 0.
